El Medano Tour and lunch at Santo Chihuahua
Just before lunch enjoy the city with a walk on its streets along the sea and on the promenade! After that you can head directly to Santo Chihuahua Restaurant an eclectic restaurant with a panoramic view over the ocean that offers a good mix of local and international food and cocktails.
Playa de la Tejita and Montana Roja
The best after lunch activity? Enjoy the beach! Playa de la Tejita it's one of the most wild and famous beaches of the entire island. One suggestion? Enjoy the playa and one hour before sunset leave for a 45-50 minute hike on top of the Montana Roja, from there you will be able to admire a fantastic sunset over the ocean and the entire south part of the Island.
Road to Teide: starwatching
After sunset, it's time to start driving up to the peak of Teide, where to spend the night admiring the beauty of the stars! Along the way, there are many typical restaurants in which you can stop to have a dinner. Before to leave, remember to buy some food for the next day!
Sendero Montaña Blanca: road to the highest point of Spain
Today will be a particular challenging day! Are you ready to climb the highest peak of Spain? Let's go! Start early in the morning in order to get to the peak before the closing time of the cable car (around 14). The route is the sendero Montana Blanca that will lead you first to the Altavista refuge in about 3 hours and walking 2 hours more you will reach the Cable Car station an the peak of Teide (remember to book in advance the entrance to the peak of Teide). If you are not a sport person, you can use the cable car to go up and down from the top of Teide.
His majesty El Drago
After a launch at Guachinche the only activity I can recomend is a loong walk. On your way south, you can stop at Icod de los Vinos to see one of the oldest Dragon tree in the world, called: El Drago Milenario. Here, you can enjoy your time walking in the beautiful histocal part of the village. Take in consideration the time you need to reach Punta Teno and the opening hours before to leave. A great spot where to discover the nature of the island!
Night at the Faro
Faro de Punta Teno will be our final destination for this busy day. A place of extreme beauty and peace, perfect if you are looking for relax after a very busy day. Here you can admire the sunrise over the cliffs and enjoy the power of nature in its best form.
Morning with a view: Mirador de Masca
You will have to drive away early in the morning from Punta Teno as the street is closing quite early in the morning, so avoid to get stuck. On the way back to the southern part of the Island, you can stop for a quick overview of the mirador of Masca an incredible natural Canyon that connects the high mountain directly with the ocean.
Los Gigantes: kayak adventure
Another day another iconinc beach of the island: Playa de los Gigantes. Here you can admire the highest cliffs of the island overfalling on the ocean.
Sunset at Cala de las Tortugas
Let's end this 3 crazy days while drinking a cervecita facing a sunset over playa de las Tortugas another authentic alternative spot on the south of Tenerife. An eco paradise for snorkeling lovers, where sometimes is possible to spot Turtles swimming around.
Before you travel
- Bring with you fresh water, as many of the sleeping spot doesn't provide a source of fresh water.
- Check the weather forecast for Teide, the cable car may be closed if it's too windy.
- Always monitor the opening time of Punta Teno, because the road is open to public trafic only in specific hours.
